About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 09:00-09:30 Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years License: RN License Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS Must-Have: Trauma experience, pediatric experience, NIH Stroke Scale experience, advanced skills in ventilator monitoring Description: The Registered Nurse will work in the Post Anesthesia Care Unit. The unit has 40 beds with a patient ratio of 1:2. Unit staffing includes unit secretaries and patient care technicians. The patient care technicians are scheduled each day and are assigned to specific pods. They can draw labs, perform catheterizations, and transport patients. Standard PACU equipment will be utilized. Documentation is done using the Cerner system. Six-week schedules are created in advance. Three on-call shifts are required within the six-week period. The float policy includes floating within peri-anesthesia services such as Endoscopy, PreOp, and Phase II. Candidates must possess BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications. The dress code requires surgical green or navy scrubs. Trauma and pediatric experience are necessary for this role. The unit offers a supportive environment with experienced staff. Additional information on equipment and technology may be available for prospective candidates. The position has been created for a contractor replacement.
