The Housing Navigator supports program participants in the initial phase of assistance following program pull, including eligibility certification, intake, housing search, placement, and lease-up. This role works closely with participants to identify and address barriers to housing, develop individualized housing placement plans, and ensure timely connection to safe, stable housing. The Housing Navigator builds and maintains relationships with landlords to expand housing opportunities and facilitate quick move-ins. This position also carries a caseload to deliver case management and supportive services that promote housing stability.

Key Roles & Responsibilities

Landlord Engagement / Mediation | Housing Search & Placement | Case Management

What You Will Do:

• Complete intake and leasing documentation and maintain accurate, timely data entry
• Assist with PSH certification as assigned
• Work with participants to identify housing barriers and develop individualized housing placement plans
• Support participants through the housing search process, including applications, unit viewings, and landlord communication
• Build and maintain relationships with landlords to expand housing opportunities and support timely placements
• Coordinate move-in logistics and ensure efficient lease-up for participants
• Provide case management and supportive services to assigned caseload to promote housing stability
• Maintain a list of available and eligible units in the service area and distribute to clients/survivors and colleagues.
• Provide education and advocacy to landlords around unique barriers of program participants
• Provide resources and education on tenant rights as assigned
• Travel throughout the FOF service area to provide in-person, in-home, advocacy services and to other locations within the state as necessary for training purposes.

Job Qualification and Competencies:

• Must demonstrate ability to organize, prioritize and plan work to meet deadlines.
• Ensure confidentiality is in place for all people FOF serves.
• Bachelor Degree in social work, psychology, related field OR combination of equivalent education and experience.
• Previous experience in the following preferred: housing programming, affordable housing, access programming and/or victim service programming.
• Ability to travel throughout the FOF service area to provide in-person advocacy services and to other locations within the state as necessary for training purposes.
• Ability to pass state, federal, and child abuse background checks.
