This is a part-time, 34 hours per week, phlebotomy position located at a client site in Green Bay, WI. Must be able to work Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 8am - 5pm. The Client Office Phlebotomist – Out of State reflects the mission, vision, and values of NM, adheres to the organization's Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program, and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines and all other regulatory and accreditation standards.

Responsibilities include performing phlebotomy and other lab specimen collections per age related standards, providing appropriate post-phlebotomy patient care, identifying need for patient medical assistance and calling code as appropriate, reviewing/recording refrigerator temperature(s) and QC/QA records, using manual requisitions and labels specimens appropriately, labeling and processing specimens according to established protocols and policies, procuring blood specimens from infant, adult, geriatric, and wheelchair bound patients, understanding the operation and maintenance of equipment pertinent to the job, following up with all outstanding orders on manifest log, requesting/obtaining written physician orders, prioritizing tasks and multi-tasking, performing and collecting phlebotomy specimens within cost, following TJC National Patient Safety goals, presenting a friendly, approachable, professional demeanor and appearance, providing accurate information and timely updates to patients and customers, addressing questions and concerns promptly, demonstrating teamwork, communicating effectively, using organizational and unit/department resources efficiently, managing work schedule efficiently, participating in efforts to reduce costs, streamline work processes and improve services, communicating and notifying Laboratory and/or Physician of problems with specimen procurement, providing follow up on test results, continuously updating on information by reading emails, maintaining a safe work environment, adhering to all recommendations and requirements of the Lab and Hospital Safety Committee, performing all aspects of patient care in a manner that optimizes patient safety, complying with all organizational policies regarding ethical business practices, performing clerical duties directly related to handling and processing of lab specimens, performing clerical work, initiating the meeting of responsibilities without prompting, demonstrating the values of team concept on a consistent basis, interacting with all team members in a professional manner, traveling to additional sites when needed.

Qualifications

Required: High School diploma or equivalent. Phlebotomy certification through a nationally recognized organization or training from a phlebotomy school or medical institution or one or more years of phlebotomy experience in a healthcare setting.

Preferred: Experience performing phlebotomy on a broad range of patient's types. Experience with processing lab specimens, transferring specimens, and handling a centrifuge. Familiar with medical EMR systems. Knowledge of medical terminology. Bilingual skills.
