RN Adolescent Psychiatric Addiction

Job Summary:

The Registered Nurse at the Youth Recovery Center (YRC) provides specialized nursing care to adolescents aged 15-18 undergoing addiction recovery and mental health treatment in a residential hospital setting. This role focuses on delivering skilled nursing support during 12-hour night shifts, emphasizing adolescent psychiatric and addiction care. The nurse collaborates with interdisciplinary teams, participates in client recreation activities, and ensures compliance with health and safety protocols. Responsibilities:

• Provide skilled nursing care to adolescents in addiction recovery and psychiatric treatment.
• Conduct patient assessments and administer medications according to care plans.
• Participate actively in recreation activities with clients to support recovery.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement treatment plans.
• Maintain accurate documentation of patient care and compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Adhere to infection control and safety protocols, including flu vaccination policies.
• Support a therapeutic and safe environment for adolescents during night shifts.

Required Skills & Certifications:

• Current Colorado Registered Nurse (RN) license (DORA).
• Minimum of 2 years RN experience in adolescent psychiatric or addiction nursing.
• American Heart Association BLS certification.
• Completed fingerprint-based national criminal history check within the last 30 days as required for Youth Mentoring Program.
• Proof of current flu vaccination with no exemptions.
• Ability to work 12-hour night shifts and rotating weekends.

Preferred Skills & Certifications:

• CAC (Certified Addiction Counselor) certification.
• Experience working in adolescent residential treatment or youth recovery programs.

Special Considerations:

• Must be able and willing to participate in recreation activities with clients.
• Flu vaccine required without exemptions.
• Compliance with fingerprint-based criminal background checks for youth mentoring.
• Work environment focused on adolescent psychiatric and addiction recovery care.

Scheduling:

• Work schedule consists of 3 shifts per week, each 12 hours long, primarily night shifts.
• Rotating weekend availability is required.
• Flexible scheduling to meet program needs.
