Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Estimator for a direct hire opportunity in Chandler, AZ, supporting residential construction projects that may include ground-up builds, renovations, remodeling, and select commercial construction work. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented construction estimating professional who understands how to turn drawings, specifications, vendor pricing, and field considerations into accurate, competitive bids.

The Estimator will play a key role in project planning, budgeting, and proposal development while working closely with project managers, superintendents, subcontractors, vendors, and leadership. This is a strong opportunity for a construction professional who enjoys a collaborative team environment, values accuracy, and wants to contribute directly to successful project awards and cost control.

Key Responsibilities

- Prepare detailed construction cost estimates, including labor, materials, equipment, subcontractor costs, and project-related expenses.
- Review architectural drawings, blueprints, specifications, and project documents to determine scope, quantities, and pricing needs.
- Perform accurate quantity takeoffs and material calculations for residential construction projects.
- Develop competitive bids, project proposals, budgets, and value engineering recommendations.
- Solicit, review, and compare subcontractor and vendor quotes to support accurate and timely bid submissions.
- Collaborate with project managers, superintendents, and leadership on schedules, budgets, risk factors, change orders, and cost impacts.

Compensation and Benefits

- Salary range: $80,000 to $90,000 per year.

Required Qualifications and Skills

- Prepare accurate estimates for residential ground-up construction, renovations, and remodeling projects.
- Analyze drawings, specifications, scope documents, subcontractor pricing, and vendor quotes.
- Support competitive bidding, proposal development, budgeting, and cost control efforts.
- Coordinate with internal project teams to evaluate risks, deadlines, pricing updates, and budget impacts.

- 5+ years of construction estimating experience preferred.
- Strong experience estimating residential ground-up construction projects.
- Solid understanding of construction methods, materials, labor costs, subcontractor pricing, and industry standards.
- Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings, blueprints, specifications, and project documentation.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and construction estimating software.
- Experience with Bluebeam, PlanSwift, Procore, or similar platforms preferred.
- Strong analytical, organizational, mathematical, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills when working with vendors, subcontractors, and internal teams.
- Ability to manage multiple bids, priorities, and deadlines in a fast-paced construction environment.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience with ground-up residential and commercial construction.
- Background in residential renovations and remodeling projects.
- Experience with subcontractor bidding, vendor coordination, and procurement.
- Knowledge of budget development, value engineering, change order evaluation, and cost control.
- Familiarity with the Phoenix metropolitan construction market.
