Role Overview: Physician - PRN - Virginia Beach, VA We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Physician to join our Virginia Beach team on a PRN basis. This role offers the opportunity to deliver high‑quality, patient‑centered medical care in post‑acute settings, including long‑term care and assisted living facilities, with flexible scheduling to accommodate clinician availability. Benefits For Our Healthcare Professionals Flexible, PRN scheduling options to promote work–life balance Competitive compensation reflective of experience and skill — W2, daily rate + as applicable Clinical autonomy supported by a collaborative multidisciplinary team Professional clinical and administrative support, including assistance with credentialing and billing Medical malpractice insurance provided Key Responsibilities Provide comprehensive, evidence‑based medical care within post‑acute and long‑term care settings on an as‑needed (PRN) basis Perform timely assessments, develop and implement person‑centred treatment plans, and manage ongoing care Prescribe and manage medications in accordance with Virginia regulations; conduct medication reconciliation and monitoring Collaborate with nursing staff, facility leadership and interdisciplinary teams to support resident safety, care transitions and positive outcomes Document patient encounters accurately and promptly in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR), including clinical reasoning, risk plans and follow‑up Provide education and support to residents, families and facility staff regarding care plans, medication effects and strategies for safe, dignified care Participate in case reviews, care conferences and quality improvement activities as requested Qualifications And Required Skills Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) from an accredited institution Active, unrestricted Virginia medical licence and current DEA registration where required for prescribing Board certification or eligibility in an appropriate specialty (family medicine, internal medicine, geriatrics or equivalent) preferred Proven proficiency with Electronic Medical Record systems and timely documentation practices Excellent clinical judgement, therapeutic communication skills and the ability to work autonomously while collaborating within teams Experience in post‑acute care, long‑term care, geriatrics or similar settings preferred What Success Looks Like Timely, comprehensive assessments and person‑centred interventions that support resident safety and wellbeing Clear, accurate EMR documentation and effective communication with facility staff, residents and families Strong, collaborative relationships with facility leadership and interdisciplinary teams Positive contributions to quality improvement activities and resident care outcomes Schedule This is a PRN position with flexible scheduling based on facility coverage needs and mutual agreement. Assignments will typically include scheduled daytime on‑site visits and occasional urgent coverage depending on demand.
