Job Opportunity

Position Overview

We are seeking qualified candidates for a night shift position providing care in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) and Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). This role requires specialized skills and experience to support critically ill infants and children.

Shift Details

  • Shift Type: Night (3x12-Hour, 19:00 - 07:00)
  • Location: Richmond, VA
Qualifications
  • Years of Experience: Minimum of 2 years
  • Certifications Required:

    • BLS (Basic Life Support)
    • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
    • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)*
    • RRT (Registered Respiratory Therapist)
    • Current Virginia license
  • Preferred Experience:

    • Trauma Level I and II experience
    • Epic charting system experience
Skills Required
  • High-level competencies in respiratory care including but not limited to:

    • Albuterol
    • BiPAP
    • Intubation assistance
    • Extubation
    • High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC)
    • Pediatric Critical Care interventions
    • Post-resuscitation care and monitoring
Patient Demographics

The candidate will provide care to a diverse patient demographic, including neonates, infants, adolescents, and pediatric patients, presenting an array of complex medical conditions.

Patient Care Details
  • Daily census includes care for critically ill patients in the NICU and PICU.
  • Support for high-risk deliveries and external transports with competency assessments.
  • Work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
Additional Information
  • Candidate must be comfortable floating within the unit as needed.
  • Participation in orientation modules is required, typically around 6 hours, which are non-billable.
  • Adherence to all facility policies regarding natural nails and background checks is mandatory.
