Senior Environmental Testing Engineer

Senior Environmental Testing EngineerSceye is seeking a Senior Environmental Testing Engineer to lead the planning, execution, and continuous improvement of environmental test campaigns for our advanced aerospace platform. This role is critical to validating system performance, reliability, and safety across demanding operational environments, including high-altitude and stratospheric conditions.You will serve as a technical leader responsible for translating system-level requirements into robust environmental test programs, coordinating cross-functional teams, and ensuring test readiness, execution, and reporting to meet internal and external standards.Key ResponsibilitiesLead the design, planning, and execution of environmental test campaigns, including thermal, altitude, vibration, humidity, and related testingTranslate system and subsystem requirements into clear test objectives, margins, procedures, and acceptance criteriaOwn environmental test planning from concept through execution, analysis, and final reportingCoordinate and lead test readiness reviews (TRRs) and support test execution activitiesProvide technical leadership and guidance to cross-functional teams, including systems, structures, avionics, and operationsOwn and maintain environmental test infrastructure, including equipment specification, procurement, and vendor coordinationAnalyze test data, document results, and present findings and recommendations to engineering leadershipEnsure testing aligns with applicable industry standards (e.g., MIL-STD-810 or similar) and internal quality expectationsIdentify risks, gaps, and improvement opportunities within test programs and infrastructureRequired QualificationsBachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Test Engineering, or a related technical field5+ years of experience in environmental testing, including at least 3 years leading test campaign development and execution for aerospace or complex systemsDemonstrated experience designing and executing environmental test programsStrong understanding of environmental test standards and best practicesProven ability to lead technically complex efforts and coordinate across multidisciplinary teamsExperience owning test equipment, facilities, or infrastructureStrong analytical, documentation, and technical communication skillsPreferred QualificationsMaster's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related fieldExperience with high-altitude or stratospheric testing environmentsBackground in lighter-than-air systems, unmanned systems, or novel aerospace platformsFamiliarity with FAA or other regulatory certification testing requirementsExperience working in startup or scale-up aerospace environmentsExperience with test automation, data acquisition systems, and advanced instrumentationWhat We OfferAt Sceye, we're building more than high-altitude platforms—we're building a workplace where people (and their pups) thrive.
