Senior Firmware Engineer

We pioneer technologies, incubate new markets, and influence industry standards by conceiving and developing products and systems, and delivering industry certified solutions. Our team is developing and implementing the next generation of electrical distribution technologies to enable a safer, more resilient, efficient, and sustainable energy future. Responsibilities:Specify, design and develop firmware for solid-state circuit breakers, hybrid protection systems, Fault Managed Power Systems (FMPS), and advanced power conversion products. Own the product development lifecycle from concept and architecture through requirements, design documentation, implementation, validation, certification, and commercialization Design and implement firmware for protection, sensing, fault detection, interruption, current limiting, communication, and control functions using simulation and modeling Develop and implement algorithms for analog, digital, and mixed-signal electronics designs with emphasis on reliability, validation, manufacturability, and EMC performance. Collaborate with electronics, software, systems, mechanical, manufacturing, and certification teams while contributing to innovation: intellectual property, technical publications, and standards activities Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field, and 5+ years of experience in firmware or software product development; Master's preferred Proven experience taking products from innovation through commercialization in regulated or safety-critical markets Strong proficiency in C or C++ programming for microcontroller-based and real-time embedded software architectures and systems Experience developing software configuration management and formal change control processes with experience creating and maintaining software requirements, architecture documents, detailed designs, and traceability artifacts. Experience with embedded development and debugging tools, including oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, JTAG/SWD debuggers, and version control systems such as Git, SVN, or equivalent. This pay range includes base pay and short-term incentives. The compensation range for this full-time position applies to candidates located within the United States.
