Construction Superintendent / Site Safety & Health Officer (SSHO) Federal Construction Location: Glenview,IL, US Experience: Mid Level Salary: $100,000 - $150,000 per year Job Details Construction Superintendent Responsibilities Lead all onsite construction activities from mOur Clientlization through project closeout. Coordinate and supervise subcontractors, vendors, suppliers, and self-perform crews. Develop and maintain project schedules to ensure milestones are achieved. Conduct daily coordination meetings and oversee work sequencing. Review plans, specifications, RFIs, and submittals to ensure quality execution. Coordinate inspections, testing, and owner walkthroughs. Track productivity, manpower, equipment utilization, and project progress. Maintain project documentation including daily reports, photos, and field records. Ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with contract requirements. SSHO Responsibilities Serve as the designated Site Safety and Health Officer on federal projects. Develop, implement, and maintain Accident Prevention Plans (APPs). Prepare and review Activity Hazard Analyses (AHAs) for all definable features of work. Conduct daily safety inspections and audits. Lead toolbox talks, safety meetings, and employee training sessions. Ensure compliance with EM 385-1-1, OSHA regulations, and project-specific safety requirements. Coordinate with government safety representatives and project stakeholders. Investigate incidents, near misses, and safety concerns while implementing corrective actions. Maintain safety documentation and reporting requirements. Exercise stop-work authority when unsafe conditions exist.
