School Nurse Opportunity

Make a meaningful impact in a school setting by providing one-on-one care as a school nurse to a young student who needs your expertise and support. Work onsite alongside a dedicated teacher and aide to deliver attentive daily care to a 4-year-old student with diabetes. Your skills as an LPN or RN will directly help foster a safe, inclusive, and nurturing educational experience.

Responsibilities:

• Deliver 1:1 nursing care to a student with diabetes throughout the school day
• Administer insulin through a pump, monitor and read blood glucose levels, and intervene as necessary
• Collaborate closely with the student's teacher and aide to ensure a supportive environment
• Document care and report on the student's health status as required
• Educate staff and provide guidance regarding diabetes management and safe practices
• Respond effectively to any health emergencies and communicate promptly with families and school staff

Qualifications:

• Active LPN or RN license in New York
• Previous experience working as a nurse in a school or pediatric setting preferred
• Confidence managing insulin pumps and monitoring glucose levels
• Strong communication skills and a caring, collaborative approach
• CPR certification (current or willing to renew)
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism

Enjoy a consistent weekday schedule, working Monday through Friday from 7:45am to 2:55pm. Earn between $35 and $40 per hour, with weekly pay and access to healthcare benefits.
