Position Details Agency: Department of Corrections Position Title: Correctional Corporal (Madras) Position Type: Employee (Permanent) Initial Posting Date: 07/06/2026 Application Deadline: 07/19/2026 Salary Range: $6,149 – $7,785 About the Job – Your Role As a Correctional Corporal, you will serve as a key member of the security team, providing custody, control, supervision, and daily care of adults in custody (AICs). You will supervise AICs in housing units, control points, program and work assignments, and designated security areas. Maintaining order, enforcing institutional rules, and responding to emergencies and critical incidents with professionalism and sound judgment are essential aspects of this role. You will assist in training and mentoring staff. Responsibilities Provide custody, control, supervision, and daily care of AICs. Supervise AICs in housing units, control points, program and work assignments, and security areas. Maintain order and enforce institutional rules. Minimum Qualifications One (1) year of experience in a correctional security setting where primary duties were the care and custody of AICs. Ability to obtain, within two weeks, an Oregon Department of Public Safety Standards and Training (DPSST) Correctional Certificate or a Correctional Certificate from another government agency. Possess a High School Diploma or GED certificate. Be 21 years of age or older. Be a United States citizen. Special Qualifications Ability to obtain a valid Oregon motor vehicle operator’s license.
