Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA)

Location: Camden, Maine
Compensation: $26–$34 per hour
Schedule: 35 hours per week | Monday–Friday | Weekend rotation
Setting: Skilled Nursing Facility | 58 beds

New graduates are welcome and will receive compensation based on their qualifications and experience.

Join a 58-bed skilled nursing facility in the heart of beautiful coastal Maine, where rehabilitation is centered around helping patients regain strength, mobility, and independence.

The facility provides post-hospital, short-term rehabilitation as well as long-term and respite care services. As a PTA, you’ll have the opportunity to work with a diverse patient population, supporting individuals as they transition from hospitalization back toward greater function and independence.

You’ll become part of a care team that understands that rehabilitation is about more than completing exercises — it’s about helping patients get back to the activities, routines, and level of independence that matter most to them.

• Provide physical therapy interventions under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist

• Implement individualized treatment plans to support patients’ mobility, strength, balance, coordination, and functional abilities

• Assist patients with therapeutic exercises, gait training, transfers, and functional mobility

• Monitor patient tolerance and response to treatment and communicate observations to the supervising Physical Therapist

• Accurately document treatments and patient progress

• Encourage and motivate patients as they work toward their rehabilitation goals

• Promote safe mobility and independence in daily activities

• Collaborate with Physical Therapists, nursing staff, and other members of the interdisciplinary care team

• Provide education and support to patients and caregivers when appropriate

• Maintain a compassionate and professional approach while delivering patient-centered care

• Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program

• Current PTA license or eligibility for licensure in Maine

• Strong communication and teamwork skills

• Ability to manage multiple patient needs in a rehabilitation environment

• Commitment to providing safe, compassionate, and quality patient care
