Manufacturing EngineerReports To: Manufacturing Engineering Manager/Dir EngineeringJOB DESCRIPTIONSummary/Objective:The Manufacturing Engineer will maintain the efficiency and effectiveness of all production related manufacturing equipment and processes required to manufacture high quality product in a repeatable and cost-effective manner.Essential Functions:Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these essential functions.• Evaluates manufacturing processes by designing and conducting research programs; applying knowledge of product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials; conferring with equipment vendors; soliciting observations from operators.• Improves manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning workflow, space requirements, and equipment layout.• Provides manufacturing decision-making information by calculating production, labor, and material costs; reviewing production schedules; estimating future requirements.• Implement changes to improve products or reduce costs using knowledge of fabrication processes, tooling and production equipment, assembly methods, quality control standards, or product design, materials, and parts.• Actively participates in department/shift/team meetings and facilitates improvement/resolutions, and follow-up to employees.• Organizing, planning, commissioning, and maintaining production lines.• Maintain and improve all factory processes and related KPI's.• Utilize benchmarking methods for continuous improvement in manufacturing. Develop systems for improvement.• Create standard work documentation and support deployment / implementation.• Support, cost estimate, and document all engineering changes.• Strong understanding of Lean/Continuous Improvement concepts, principles, practices, and implementation required.• Initiate actions to prevent the occurrence of any nonconformance relating to product, processes, and/or systems.• Support new product launch, creating work cells, staffing models and manufacturing flow.• Performs other duties as assigned to support the organization.Characteristic Duties:Competencies:• Ability to read, analyze and interpret technical drawings.• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.• Proficient computer skills and ability to learn required systems that are utilized to be successful in this position, such as AutoCAD, Solidworks (Assembly & Motion Studies), Microsoft Project, Infor XA, AS400, and CNC Programming.• Ability to write reports and business correspondence.• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions.• Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, communication skills, multitasking abilities, and the ability to communicate written and orally.• Strong mathematics skills.• Ability to calculate figures and understand technical complex concepts• Ability to identify and describe practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists..Supervisory Responsibility: N/AWork Environment:The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
