They ensure that patients, families, and significant others receive individualized high quality, safe patient care. The practice environment is supported through the Shared Governance Model. The framework for practice is guided by the Professional Practice Model and evidence-based practice and research. RN competencies are derived from these models and supported by the core values. All RN Clinical Nurses are expected to uphold the practice of nursing as outlined by the Professional Nurse Practice Act. They implement the Scope of Practice and Code of Ethics Standards set forth by the relevant professional organization. As a member of the patient services team, the individual upholds the voice of the patient and system policies. They support service excellence goals. Responsibilities include performing the Nursing Process which involves assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation of clinical care. They provide relationship-based, patient-centered care that adapts service delivery to reflect cultural diversity. The RN partners with the patient and significant others using appropriate communication methods. They document and coordinate safe quality patient care through diverse interdisciplinary communication methods. Demonstrating teamwork and collaboration, they practice responsibly and promote the recruitment and retention of healthcare team members. Participation in performance improvement, research, and evidence-based practice is essential. The RN completes all required professional competency assessments and education. They may serve as a preceptor or mentor for other professional nurses and staff. Upholding organizational policies, they ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and accreditation standards. Active participation in developing protocols and procedures is expected. The RN plans for patient care across the continuum while supporting resource efficiency. Other duties may be assigned as needed. The RN complies with all relevant policies and standards of conduct.
