Job Title: General Production Worker

Job Description

This role performs a variety of manual and mechanical tasks to support the fabrication and assembly of foam and plastic containers. You will work with a range of basic tools and limited production equipment, follow simple prints and specifications, and help ensure products meet quality and safety standards. 1st Shift: 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Responsibilities

• Perform a variety of simple fabrication and assembly operations for foam and plastic containers.
• Pick parts and supplies from inventory according to instructions and job requirements.
• Assist in setting up and operating cutting equipment, drills, saws, glue applicators, assembly tools, drill presses, and hand and power tools.
• Cut stock materials to specified dimensions and tolerances as instructed.
• Perform gluing, taping, flame treating, labeling, masking, and painting operations as directed.
• Read and interpret simple prints, drawings, and product specifications for assigned jobs.
• Conduct required tests, visual inspections, and dimensional checks to verify product quality.
• Identify any out-of-specification conditions and promptly notify a lead or manager.
• Follow established quality standards and safety precautions during all tasks.
• Support general production operations by keeping work areas organized and materials properly handled.

Essential Skills

• Ability to perform basic fabrication and assembly tasks using hand and power tools.
• Proficiency using a glue gun and related glue applicators.
• Ability to accurately use a tape measure to cut materials to specified dimensions and tolerances.
• Basic math skills to support measuring, cutting, and simple calculations.
• Ability to read and follow simple prints, drawings, and product specifications.
• Attention to detail to perform visual inspections, dimensional checks, and basic testing.
• Awareness of and adherence to quality standards and safety precautions.
• Physical ability to lift 20–30 lbs and work in a potentially loud production environment.
• Willingness and ability to work 2 hours of overtime daily and some Saturdays, as required.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience working with foam or plastic materials in a production or assembly environment is beneficial.
• Familiarity with cutting, drilling, sawing, flame treating, labeling, masking, and painting processes is an advantage.
• Comfort operating drill presses, saws, and other basic production equipment.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions consistently and accurately.
• Strong reliability and punctuality to support first or second shift operations.

Work Environment

This is a production floor environment that can be loud at times due to operating equipment and tools. You will work with cutting tools, drills, saws, glue applicators, assembly tools, drill presses, and various hand and power tools. The role requires the ability to lift 20–30 lbs regularly and to stand, move, and handle materials throughout the shift. Available shifts include a first shift from 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Expectation of working approximately 2 hours of overtime daily and some Saturdays as needed. Appropriate work attire suitable for a manufacturing environment is required, along with adherence to all safety procedures and use of any required protective equipment.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Ontario, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $19.00/hr.
