JOB CLASSIFICATION Exempt Status JOB SUMMARY The Chief Financial Officer is responsible to the CEO and accountable for all financial matters relating to the operations of the Center, and for maintaining a system of internal controls according to the policies set by the Board of Directors. RESPONSIBILITIES AND AUTHORITY 1. The CFO is responsible for all financial and facility business including but not limited to: A. Continuous review of all factors affecting the cost of administration and the operation of the Center. Take necessary corrective action to keep costs commensurate with the Center's objectives and recommend appropriate action to the CEO B. Prepare monthly financial statements, related analysis, statistics and special accounting reports C. Take all necessary and responsible precautions to protect the Center's money and property against loss or waste through negligence or dishonesty E. Accounts payable; Payroll and all payroll and other tax deposits including payroll tax reports G. Maintenance of the General Ledger H. Timely submission of any reporting required by a third-party carrier or any funding agency (reviewed by CEO) I. Ensure that adequate insurance coverage is maintained by the Center in order to protect the Corporation in the event of legal proceedings, fire, theft and property damage. II. Meet regularly with Practice manager to assess budget compliance both in revenue and expenses, A/R and collections III. Implement and maintain purchasing system. IV. Pursues professional development activities to ensure currency with trends in finance and health care M. Other duties as assigned by the CEO 2. The CFO reports to the CEO, maintains open lines of communication with the auditor and with the treasurer of the Board of Directors, prepares a CFO report for the Board of Directors, and attends Finance Committee meetings and Board meetings. 3. She/he is responsible for preparation of the annual operating budget, all financial statements, flow sheets or other reports or analyses required by the CEO. She/he is also responsible for analyzing systems and procedures and recommending changes to improve work flow and efficiency. 4. She/he is responsible for development and maintenance of adequate control systems as required by auditor or the funding agency's requests. QUALIFICATIONS Degree in Accounting or Finance with CPA certification; experience in medical office necessary. TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS Light. Requires use of calculator, computer, all other office machines.
