Change the World. AECOM is actively seeking a highly motivated Environmental Scientist to join our Environmental Remediation group in Denver, CO. The successful candidate will work under the oversight of an experienced team of engineers and scientists on environmental site assessments, remedial and solid waste design and construction, and environmental support on multi-disciplinary projects. This position involves field and office responsibilities with potential for growth. Candidates from other locations may be considered. Responsibilities Perform standard scientific work requiring application of techniques and procedures. Detect problems using standardized procedures due to sample condition or equipment difficulties. Conduct specific phases of projects for more experienced scientists. Propose appropriate analytical methods and techniques; provide advice and consulting services within scientific scope. Draw conclusions and make recommendations based on analysis. Interpret and record data, conduct analyses, and compare findings to relevant studies and local, state and federal regulations to ensure compliance. Maintain flexibility for extended hours and locations; travel may exceed 50% of time; must be able to travel regionally. Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Sciences or Engineering or related fields. Two (2+) years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and education. Valid driver’s license. Subject to pre‑employment background check. U.S. citizenship or permanent residency required; sponsorship not available. Preferred Qualifications Master's Degree preferred. Willingness and ability to work outdoors in sometimes challenging conditions. Good interpersonal and communication skills, comfortable liaising with clients, colleagues, and subcontractors. Willingness and ability to learn and rapidly master new tasks. Scientific research and report writing experience. Strong analytical and numerical skills. Strong written and verbal skills. Strong quality and time management. Self‑starter, develops and delivers work under own initiative. Solid attention to detail and thorough approach to work. Professional certifications sought. 40‑hr OSHA HAZWOPER certificate. Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, GIS applications.
