Job TitleDesign, Architect, Configure, Deploy, Upgrade, and Support Various Storage and Backup PlatformsBasic Requirements:Security+ Cert12 years of experience in the Information Technology fieldBachelor's degree in a technical discipline8 additional years of experience in the Information Technology field may be substituted for a degreeJob Description:Design, architect, configure, deploy, upgrade, and support various storage and backup platforms and associated management toolsDiagnose and troubleshoot storage systems and other related technologiesAdhere to engineering and architecture standards and participate in technical review meetings as requiredParticipate in the evaluation, deployment, management, and integration of new technologies in alignment with other engineers, architects, and technical service lanesProvide incident support and participate in on-call rotation during off-hours and weekendsCreate and maintain documentation: logical/physical diagrams, run books, and other technical engineering documentsDemonstrate initiative and commitment to optimizing systems and processesOversee the installation of new storage hardware and software according to standard operating proceduresOversee updates to hardware, operating systems, and software as needed to provide required functionality and securityEnsure systems are monitored and statistics relevant to capacity, performance, utilization, etc., are collected and regularly reviewedKeep abreast of current developments in storage and backup technology to assist Federal staff in assessing the future direction of storage and backup technologyBenefits to working in this role:Opportunity to work on critical, high-impact projects that contribute to national securityA high-growth environment with numerous opportunities for professional growthA collaborative team environment that values innovation and efficiencyRequired Experience:Hands on NetApp experience a MUSTHands-on engineering experience with NetApp and other storage technologies and concepts (Storage Area Network - SAN & Network Attached Storage - NAS)Must have knowledge and understanding of protocols such as S3, CIFS, NFS, iSCI, and Fiber Channel Block Storage (SAN)Experience with capacity planning and sizing storage and backup environments (to include Veritas NetBackup, Cohesity, Rubrik, & CommVault)Experience in performance tuning and optimizing storage and backup environmentsExperience with data center migrations and storage replication technologiesSenior-level experience with the design, development, implementation, and maintenance of large-scale systems, preferably across multiple hardware platforms and data centersStrong understanding of high availability concepts with practical experience and implementation of key components in storage environmentsStrong understanding of fundamental hardware concepts: disk, memory, CPU, NIC, HBA, firmware, RAID, performance concepts (I/O, paging, swapping, system calls), iSCSI, Fiber Channel, EthernetStrong understanding of essential TCP/IP concepts: TCP, UDP, ICMP, SMTP, SNMP, LDAP, DNS, NTP, etc..Experience connecting storage arrays to Hypervisor Technologies (NUTANIX, VMWARE VCF, OpenStack).Understanding of security best practices and federal hardening requirements (FISMA, STIG, etc.)Proficient written and oral communication skillsStrong collaborative attitude and ability to work in a team environmentAbility to take directionSalary: $190,000 - $200,000 annuallyExcellent benefits package including 25 days PTO, 11 paid holidays, 100% employer-paid healthcare for employees and dependents – available day 1, 8% 401(k) employer match – immediate vesting.Disclaimer: The salary range provided is an estimate based on current market conditions and may be adjusted based on factors such as experience, skills, and qualifications.
