The unit provides specialized cardiac care for patients with advanced heart failure, pulmonary hypertension, and complex cardiac conditions. This includes management of electrolyte-related dysrhythmias and tachy-brady syndromes. The team also cares for patients awaiting heart transplantation and those with implantable cardiac devices such as pacemakers and implantable cardioverter-defibrillators. Additionally, expert management is offered for patients undergoing cardiac procedures. This includes pre- and post-cardiac catheterization, electrophysiology studies, ablation, and chemical cardioversion with anti-dysrhythmic therapy. Tikosyn is one of the therapies used in these cases.
