Mech-Tronics is seeking a dependable, detail-oriented Quality Inspector to join our Quality team. This is a great opportunity for someone with basic manufacturing inspection experience who is interested in developing their skills and growing within a precision manufacturing environment.

The Quality Inspector will perform visual and dimensional inspections of manufactured parts to ensure they meet blueprint, work order and customer requirements. The position will work closely with the Quality team and will initially receive supervision and guidance while learning Mech-Tronics' inspection processes and quality requirements.

Responsibilities:

• Perform inspections using established methods and procedures.
• Visually inspect and measure manufactured parts.
• Verify dimensions against blueprints, drawings and work order specifications.
• Use precision measuring equipment such as calipers, micrometers and height gauges.
• Assist with preparation of First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs) , including ballooning prints and entering FAIR information into applicable systems.
• Maintain nonconforming-material logs and other required quality documentation.
• Assist with identifying and containing suspect or nonconforming material.
• Support final inspection activities.
• Provide backup support to the Designated Quality Representative as trained and qualified.
• Accurately enter inspection and quality information into company systems.
• Follow company safety, quality and work procedures.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Technical training or a two-year degree is helpful but not required.
• 1–3 years of quality or manufacturing inspection experience preferred.
• Basic blueprint-reading skills required.
• Basic experience using inspection equipment such as calipers, micrometers and height gauges.
• Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Basic Microsoft Office skills; intermediate Excel skills are preferred.
• Ability to learn specialized quality software and systems.
• Ability to work independently after training and as part of a team.   

Physical & Work Environment

• Position is approximately 75% standing/walking and 25% sitting .
• Occasional lifting of up to 15 pounds.
• Work is performed in both a Quality lab and manufacturing environment.
• Safety glasses are required while on the production floor.
• Full-foot leather footwear is required.
