We are committed to providing extraordinary service to our customers, helping our employees improve, supporting our communities, and increasing the value of the company for our shareholders.Position OverviewThe Engineering Co-op supports facility and infrastructure projects through AutoCAD drafting, structural assessments, project coordination, and technical documentation. This role provides hands-on engineering experience while working closely with engineering, operations, and contractor partners.Key ResponsibilitiesAct as a team member in supporting engineering projects and activities, this includes collecting data for program managers, coordinating specific tasks, and drawing on the principles of science, technology, and mathematics to assist in developing creative solutions.Expedite the in-house design of engineering projects and specifications of functional requirements of the project, as needed. Demonstrate increasing levels of ownership and responsibility for activities and projects as progression is made toward the final stages of co-op.Work closely with operations and engineering staff, as well as contractors/vendors (as needed), in planning and supporting engineering activities/projects, conducting structural assessments, data collection, drafting, gauging bids/estimates, AutoCAD assignments, etc.Perform systems and information upkeep, and manage administrative duties such as drawings scanning, document handling and storage, and preparation of technical reports and summaries as dictated by stage of co-op.What is Expected of You and Others at This LevelHas basic skills in an analytical or scientific method or operational processWorks within clearly defined standard operations procedures and or scientific methods and adheres to quality guidelinesWorks with close supervisionCompetencies Expected of You and Others at This LevelCustomer Focus - Building strong customer relationships and delivering customer-centric solutionsCollaborates - Building partnerships and working collaboratively with others to meet shared objectivesValues Differences - Recognizes the value that different perspectives and cultures bring to an organizationOptimizes Work Processes - Knowing the most effective and efficient processes to get things done, with a focus on continuous improvementInstills Trust - Gaining the confidence and trust of others through honesty, integrity, and authenticityEnsures Accountability - Holding self and others accountable for meeting commitmentsBeing Resilient - Rebounding from setbacks and adversity when facing difficult situationsMinimum Qualifications & SkillsHigh School Diploma or GED equivalent requiredCurrently pursuing a bachelor's degree in civil, mechanical, or construction engineeringSophomore standing required; junior or senior standing strongly preferred3.0 GPA or higher requiredAutoCAD experience strongly preferredStrong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skillsDemonstrated initiative, strong work ethic, and willingness to learn in a collaborative environmentThis job description is intended to describe the general nature and level of work performed.
