The U.S. Medical Immunology team supports Sanofi’s commitment to improve lives through science, aiming to transform medical practice, deliver innovative data to providers and payers, and enable timely patient identification and action on debilitating immunological disorders.

The Medical Director, Dermatology functions as the product expert to develop and execute an integrated U.S. medical/scientific strategy for Dermatology products, collaborate with cross‑functional teams, and provide strategic medical leadership both internally and to external stakeholders.

Main Responsibilities

  • Develop strategy and tactics for an integrated Medical Plan (Medical Science Liaisons, Medical Education, Medical Communications, Publications, Health Outcomes, Safety and Clinical Research including Phase III–IV and Investigator Sponsored Trials) and an annual budget for assigned Dermatology products.
  • Execute the integrated medical plan to deliver tactical activities on time and on budget.
  • Communicate the details and progress of the Medical Plan to Management, the Core Team, and all execution partners.
  • Provide data evidence to align strategy with clinical development and commercial objectives.
  • Support generation and communication of scientific and medical insights to internal stakeholders and develop/execute strategic and tactical Medical Engagement Plans.
  • Offer medical strategy and expertise to Clinical, Commercial, Market Access, and Regulatory partners and ensure cross‑functional alignment.
  • Provide medical leadership to sales, marketing, legal, and regulatory functions for marketed products and those in development.
  • Guide and collaborate with the field team, marketing, HEVA, Market Access, and sales teams; oversee MSL resources and budgets.
  • Partner with Field Medical Head, Medical Directors, and other internal partners to manage high‑level regional stakeholder relationships, contribute to medical engagement planning, and oversee the MSL budget.
  • Collaborate with the health economics team to assess questions and opportunities.
  • Review and approve all medical and scientific content for promotional and medical materials, ensuring compliance with corporate standards and industry regulations.
  • Provide medical review of applications for independent medical education grants and training materials for medical and commercial employees.
  • Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of prevailing guidance, regulation, and law (FDA, OIG, DDMAC/OPDP, PhRMA, ICMJE, ISPOR).
  • Support execution of U.S. Phase III–IV clinical study programs: prepare protocols, case report forms, study reports, statistical analysis plans; oversee study conduct and reporting.
  • Provide oversight of investigator‑sponsored trials, including concept and protocol review.
  • Identify and co‑create research collaboration opportunities within the therapeutic area.
  • Identify needs for post‑marketing clinical trials and registries, manage and execute them.
  • Ensure public presentation of data generated by the company or investigator‑sponsored trials is timely, fair, and balanced.
  • Partner with U.S. Drug Safety on adverse event management, post‑marketing safety data, and communication of safety signals.
  • Coordinate Product Alerts with US Drug Safety, USRAMP, and GMA.
  • Develop and sustain relationships with key thought leaders and external scientific advisory boards.
  • Represent Sanofi in medical meetings, advisory boards, and outreach meetings to strengthen reputation in Dermatology.
  • Provide disease state and product training to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Stay informed of current developments through literature, meetings, and professional associations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Advance degree in life sciences or pharmaceutical sciences (PhD, PharmD, PA, NP, MD) with relevant experience.
  • Minimum 5years of Medical Affairs experience.
  • Track record of developing and executing medical strategies in the U.S.
  • Clinical or medical affairs experience in Dermatology and/or Immunology strongly preferred.
  • Industry Medical Affairs or Clinical Development experience, including Launch and Life Cycle Management.
  • Deep knowledge of healthcare systems, regulatory and payer environment, public health, and industry trends.
  • Sound scientific and clinical judgment with understanding of the scientific method and clinical applications.
  • In‑depth understanding of clinical trial design and execution; experience preferred.
  • Ability to translate innovative strategies into actionable plans and lead strategic initiatives.
  • Strong cross‑functional teamwork and collaboration skills; politically astute.
  • Excellent internal and external stakeholder management, influencing without authority.
  • Leadership presence to represent Medical Affairs within the company and to leaders at all levels.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and oral, including presentation skills.
  • High personal integrity; commitment to ethics and scientific standards.
  • High energy, adaptability, and ability to manage ambiguity.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
  • Proficiency in time, project management, and priority setting.
  • Dedication to lifelong learning and continuous development.
  • Knowledge of pharmacovigilance and local regulatory processes.

• Salary range: $178,500.00 – $257,833.33 (commensurate with experience)
