Job Purpose

Applies broad theoretical knowledge in Regional Specification Control Operations. Manages and administers North American Regional and Global engineering drawings, as well as manufacturing design revision issuance for North American and global plants as required. Develops, configures, manages, and verifies technical data within the Manufacturing Bill of Materials (BOM) through the execution of Engineering Design Changes (EDCs) and manufacturing revisions. Supports North American manufacturing plants by implementing Manufacturing Instructions and engineering changes accurately and efficiently. Contributes to successful new model launches and mass production operations by ensuring quality, accuracy, and efficiency throughout the engineering change management process.

Key Accountabilities

Design Change Delivery (40%)

• Manage engineering technical records and project information related to design changes and Bill of Materials (BOM) updates within the BEAM system.
• Review engineering drawings and validate part hierarchy, structure changes, application settings, quantities, and effective dates.
• Interpret regional and global supply agreements to ensure accurate distribution of data to manufacturing plants.
• Configure and maintain vehicle applications, feature lists, and frame, engine, transmission, and differential combinations.
• Support supplier and factory instruction issuance through change-point management, reason code application, and VIN tracking requirements.
• Coordinate design change approvals and ensure timely, sequential implementation of engineering revisions.
• Analyze verification reports to confirm data accuracy and support approvals, customer communication, and production readiness.
• Ensure design and manufacturing BOM changes are released on schedule to support new model launches and mass production activities.

Manufacturing Instruction Delivery (40%)

• Configure and maintain manufacturing BOM data through Part Drawing Manufacturing Change Points within the BEAM system.
• Verify part hierarchy, quantities, applications, and supply relationships to ensure manufacturing accuracy.
• Interpret supply and installation agreements and distribute information to affected plants and departments.
• Review technical drawings and supporting documentation to ensure compliance with operational standards before BOM modifications.
• Manage Manufacturing Instruction (MI) approval workflows and confirm proper routing through required stakeholders.
• Generate and analyze verification reports to validate change-point accuracy and support approval processes.
• Prioritize multiple vehicle programs and ensure manufacturing changes are implemented on time for production events and launch milestones.

Export Bill of Material Management (10%)

• Manage BOM activities supporting parts supplied from North America to global manufacturing operations.
• Coordinate with international regions regarding application timing, model builds, part configuration, and production execution.
• Participate in BOM and New Model meetings and provide support to internal and external stakeholders.
• Verify part structures, application changes, and effective-date timing to ensure BOM accuracy.
• Identify process improvement opportunities and assess impacts of engineering and manufacturing changes on production.

Communication & Coordination (5%)

• Serve as a resource for North American plants and departments regarding BOM configuration, engineering changes, and operational requirements.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and global teams to ensure accurate implementation of product changes.
• Support new model development and production readiness activities as required.

Business Planning & Continuous Improvement (5%)

• Lead or participate in business initiatives focused on process improvement, efficiency, quality, and operational excellence.
• Develop process maps, conduct analyses and time studies, and collaborate across departments to implement improvements.
• Communicate project status and results through regular management reviews.

Qualifications, Experience, and Skills

Education

• Bachelor's degree (B.A., B.S., or equivalent) or a combination of education and relevant professional experience.

Experience

• 0 to 4 years of experience in Part Drawing Control, Engineering Change Management, or a related field.
• Experience in Supply Chain, Production Control, Manufacturing Engineering, or similar manufacturing operations is preferred.

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Knowledge of Bill of Materials (BOM) and Parts List validation processes.
• Understanding of Specification Notice procedures, including Design Change (DC) and Manufacturing Instruction (MI) issuance and management.
• Familiarity with Honda Engineering Standards and engineering documentation practices.
• Working knowledge of CATIA or similar CAD systems.
• Understanding of new model development and launch processes.
• Knowledge of data modeling and technical data management principles.
• Familiarity with product maker layout and manufacturing configuration processes.
• Strong attention to detail with a commitment to technical data accuracy, quality, and system integrity.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; macro/VBA knowledge is a plus.
• Proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills with the ability to collaborate across multiple departments and global teams.
