Phlebotomist I

Pay Range: $19.85hr - $21.26hr


Job Overview:


The Patient Services Representative I (PSR I) represents the face of the organization to patients who present for routine healthcare or diagnostic insights. The PSR I draws quality blood samples from patients and prepares specimens for laboratory testing following established practices and procedures. The PSR I maintains direct patient contact, establishing an atmosphere of trust and confidence while explaining procedures and drawing blood specimens in a skillful, safe, and accurate manner. The candidate will demonstrate leadership behaviors while focusing on process excellence, sensitivity to confidentiality, and accurate handling of patient information.


Responsibilities:

• Perform daily activities accurately and on time under the direction of the area supervisor.
• Maintain a safe and professional environment.
• Perform forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing duties following established practices and procedures with confidence.
• Maintain required records and documentation.
• Demonstrate organizational commitment and promote a positive image to patients, clients, employees, and the public in general.

Job Requirements:

• Ability to provide quality, error-free work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work independently with minimal on-site supervision.
• Excellent phlebotomy skills including pediatric and geriatric care.
• Flexibility and availability based on staffing needs, including weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime.

Required Education:

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Medical training such as medical assistant or paramedic training is preferred.
• Phlebotomy certification is preferred (required in California, Nevada, and Washington).

Work Experience:

• Minimum of 6 months of experience required, with 1+ years of phlebotomy experience preferred.
• Customer service experience in a retail or service environment preferred.
• Keyboard and data entry experience is required.
