Description

We are seeking a friendly and welcoming Barista to join our team. The ideal candidate must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, a passion for coffee culture and quality, and be knowledgeable about various roasts, beans, brewing methods, coffee profiles, in addition to fruits, vegetables, and supplements used in various menu items. As a Birdies & Lattes Barista, you are responsible for providing exceptional customer service while preparing and serving a variety of high quality hand-crafted espresso beverages, teas, and other beverages. Your duties include greeting customers with exceptional customer service, taking orders, operating espresso machines, coffee grinders, and a convection oven; ensuring the cleanliness and organization of the work area, and processing payments. You must have a friendly & welcoming demeanor, excellent communication skills, and a passion for coffee culture and high quality and consistency. Additionally, you should be able to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, collaborate with team members, and adhere to food safety guidelines and company policies.

General Accountabilities:

• Customer Service : Greeting customers, taking orders, and ensuring customer satisfaction.

• Beverage Preparation : Building all handcrafted beverage menu items including coffee, tea, pressed juices, fruits, vegetables, and other ingredients according to recipes.

• Food Preparation : Preparing and heating food, pastries, and other ingredients & menu items according to recipes using a convection oven.

• Menu Knowledge : Providing detailed and informative service knowledge about the quality of ingredients, nutritional benefits, and menu options to customers.

• Cleanliness and Hygiene : Maintaining a clean, sanitary, and organized work area, including equipment and storage areas, and following food safety guidelines.

• Inventory Management : Monitoring and restocking ingredients and supplies as needed.

• Upselling : Suggesting additional items or upgrades to enhance the customer experience through excellent service knowledge.

• Teamwork : Collaborating with coworkers to ensure smooth operations and excellent service throughout the entire facility.

• Adherence to Policies : Following company policies and procedures, including health and safety regulations.

Job Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous experience as a barista is preferred.
• Basic understanding of food service hygiene and sanitation practices.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills.
• Willingness to learn and follow instructions.

Salary


$16.5 - $16.5 per hour
