Job Summary Guides the day-to-day activities for a team that ensures electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic servicing and maintenance of production machinery and equipment, physical plant, utilities, and grounds. Ensures compliance with regulations and company policies, maintains a safe work environment, supervises repair and maintenance projects, and collaborates with other departments to ensure efficient operations. Key Responsibilities Supervise the day-to-day activities of a team of entry-level individual contributors and/or supervisors. Provide guidance, coaching, and support to achieve team goals. Participate in HR activities such as hiring, terminations, performance management, goal setting, team member development, scheduling, etc. Enforce and contribute to the development of systems, policies, and procedures. Prepare daily budget report for the cost center. Maintain budgets in the assigned department(s). Inspect jobs in process and at completion to ensure workmanship and safety standards are maintained. Ensure adequate time is dedicated to the Safety Accountability Process and the Maintenance Accountability Program. Oversee work order requests and plan a continual work schedule to maintain all company property in a safe and healthy condition. Ensure proper maintenance of facility machinery and buildings. Conduct safety audits, equipment audits, walk-arounds, etc. Track progress of open projects and ensure they remain on track to meet goals. Oversee capital projects. Write CERs (claim, evidence, reasoning) as needed to support capital projects and partnerships with external resources for maintenance and capital solutions. Direct the maintenance and repair of processing equipment, mobile equipment, buildings, and grounds in a safe and efficient manner, including providing direction for relevant systems (e.g., SAP CMMS, BOSS). Develop, schedule, and control a preventive maintenance program to maintain production machinery and equipment in proper working condition. Recommend plans and implement equipment needs to improve production efficiency and/or achieve cost reduction. Prepare key performance indicators and attend or present at relevant meetings. Essential Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Solid knowledge of practical use of mechanical, pneumatic, electrical, and hydraulic principles Strong understanding of plant-wide equipment and machinery, including safety and food safety best practices Working knowledge of CERs, budget control, and KPIs Solid leadership skills to coach, support, and motivate a team through oversight of supervisors Ability to apply math and physics to maintenance calculations Effective technology skills Root cause analysis, incident investigation, and troubleshooting abilities Ability to research, evaluate, and interpret data Strong communication, organization, time-management, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills Highly skilled at resource management, delegation, and prioritizing deliverables Physical Demands While performing duties, may be required to stand, walk, sit, talk, hear, reach, bend, stoop, kneel, and use hands to operate equipment, computer, telephone, keyboard; may climb and lift up to 50 pounds. Requires vision acuity for close, distance, depth perception, color vision, and focus adjustment. Working Conditions and Travel Work in climate-controlled office environments and manufacturing settings with varying conditions, including cold areas, wet areas, and chemicals. PPE must be worn in the manufacturing environment. Office noise is usually moderate; manufacturing noise may exceed 85 DBA and require hearing protection. Occasional travel may be required.
