Tax Specialist

Full time position with benefits including paid time off (PTO), health insurance (shared cost), vision insurance, and retirement [401(a)]. Dental insurance is also available. Wage $18.42 per hour (Grade 3, Step 1). Hours 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM M-F. Qualifications: Must be a high school graduate or equivalent. A minimum of 2 years experience working with the public in a business setting, including processing financial transactions and using a computer and calculator on a daily basis. Being able to multi task and pay attention to detail is a plus. Summary of Duties: The person hired for this position will do daily bank deposits, process delinquent tax payments, check delinquent tax payments daily, answer taxpayer questions, read legal descriptions to certify deeds and land divisions, authorize bank transfers, verify and process payroll withholdings, process refunds/ bill backs for Principal Residence Exemptions, Board of Reviews, Tax Tribunals and State Tax Commission changes. Other duties as assigned by County Treasurer. Working Conditions: This job does require a significant amount of time using a computer at a desk in an office. You will be working with the public at a counter as well as answering the telephone, which can be rewarding and difficult in the same day. #J-18808-Ljbffr
