Medical Assistant – Functional & Integrative Medicine Practice

We are a growing functional and integrative medical practice in the Tampa Bay area seeking an experienced, dependable, and positive Medical Assistant to join our team.

This is a hands-on position that combines clinical Medical Assistant responsibilities with front-office support. We are looking for someone who is organized, friendly, professional, health-conscious, and genuinely enjoys helping patients.

Schedule: Monday–Thursday, 9:00 AM–5:00 PM

Responsibilities

• Assist with both clinical and front-office duties
• Prepare patients and exam rooms for appointments and procedures
• Obtain and document vital signs and relevant patient information
• Perform blood draws/phlebotomy when needed
• Prepare and maintain clinical supplies and procedure trays
• Monitor inventory and assist with ordering medical supplies
• Schedule appointments and assist with patient check-in/check-out
• Answer phones and communicate professionally with patients
• Maintain accurate and organized patient records
• Enter and update patient information accurately in electronic medical records
• Help keep the clinical and front-office areas clean, organized, and running efficiently
• Work closely with providers and other team members to create an excellent patient experience
• Assist with electronic forms, patient communications, and other administrative tasks as needed
• Protect patient privacy and maintain confidentiality at all times

Computer & Technology Skills

• Comfortable using computers, tablets, and other office technology
• Experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR/EHR) systems preferred
• Comfortable with scheduling and practice-management software
• Proficient with email, internet, and electronic communication
• Basic knowledge of Google Workspace
• Able to accurately enter, update, and retrieve patient information electronically
• Comfortable using electronic forms, digital documents, and online systems
• Able to learn and adapt quickly to new software, technology, and office systems
• Comfortable troubleshooting basic technology issues and knowing when to seek additional assistance
• Experience with electronic faxing, scanning, printing, and document management preferred
• Strong attention to detail when working with electronic records and patient information

Qualifications

• Previous medical office experience is REQUIRED
• Blood draw/phlebotomy experience preferred
• Comfortable working in both clinical and administrative roles
• Strong computer and technology skills
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Friendly, outgoing, and professional
• Positive attitude and team-oriented mindset
• Dependable and punctual
• Comfortable learning new systems and office processes
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Able to multitask and shift priorities in a busy medical office
