We are currently seeking an individual to join our hard-working, dedicated team as a Substation General Foreman. Requirements Oversee, coordinate, pre-plan and schedule all aspects of multiple electrical construction projects, including but not limited to manpower, equipment, tools and materials, in conjunction with Hayden project management, other trades, subcontractors, vendors, customer and project ownership. Ability to lay out all types of work including site and civil work. Apply complete and thorough knowledge of all electrical materials, tools tasks as needed in a commercial, industrial or specialty electrical installation. Ability to travel. On projects outside of local area, may require travel and overnight stay at out-of- town project site for extended periods of time. Skilled expertise in 138kV, 69kV and 15kV installations, troubleshooting and working in and around medium and high voltage equipment. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to build and maintain professional relationships between company, customers, management, field team, vendors and subcontractors. Proficiency in all job responsibilities and essential duties as required of a company Foreman. Execute and manage required paperwork daily including but not limited to manpower scheduling, daily journal and associated team tasks. Excellent ability to analyze, interpret and understand blueprints, including architectural, civil, electrical, fire suppression, HVAC, plumbing, drawings and work scope and change orders. Management and collection of bills of materials and identification of project labor needs for effective change order management and time and material work. Keep track of and monitor all change order opportunities and risk. Responsible for change order approval prior to work being completed. Review and approval of manpower timecards, electronic and manual, on a weekly basis for submittal to project management and payroll by Monday morning. Attend weekly and monthly company meetings relevant to improving the team and company as a whole as required for project and leadership success. Proficient in all types of troubleshooting of electrical systems on a commercial, industrial and specialty electrical systems. Coordination of all required inspections for projects. Work with Safety to monitor the compliance with the Hayden safety program on the jobsite including but not limited to identifying and remediating potential jobsite hazards, conducting post-accident investigations, delivering weekly toolbox talks and ensuring compliance of team members with Hayden safety standards Ensure that all project related materials, tools and equipment are maintained in an orderly and safe working fashion. Maintain clean work areas daily. Direct, mentor and coach team leads, journeyman and apprentices and complete ongoing and yearly performance evaluations. Be willing when needed to actively participate in field work while overseeing crew operations. Communicate with other employees, management and customers in a professional manner. Conform to company policies, procedures and safety requirements. Education/Work Experience/Certifications: High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED) Minimum of five (5) years' experience in supervisory/team leader role with demonstrated project leadership and management abilities. Journeyman License requirement in state, locales, or projects, as required. Valid Driver's License, satisfactory driving record and reliable transportation required. OSHA 30 certification and MEWP (Mobile Elevating Work Platform) certifications are a plus. The Company may provide training and certification opportunities following hire at its discretion. Valid first aid/CPR certification Skills/Abilities: Expertise in 138kV, 69kV and 15kV equipment and all types of testing equipment and circuits. Excellent communication, leadership and supervision skills. Manage and oversee all aspects of the construction project as the General Foreman on site. Maintain working knowledge of applicable electrical codes, including NEC and NFPA standards. Attend approved seminars for the current National Electrical Code (NEC). Proficiency with computer and relevant job required hardware/software (i.e. iPad, laptop) Proficiency in testing electrical systems. Perform physically demanding tasks such as digging trenches, either by use of hand tools or power equipment, laying conduit or moving or lifting heavy objects. Capable of operating two-handed tools/equipment, cable cutters, hammer drills, compression tools, jack hammers, etc. As required, operate and work from mechanical hydraulic lifts (electric or gas powered). Operate company trucks in a safe manner, as required. Operate equipment (i.e., trenchers and backhoes) in a safe manner, as required. Ability to communicate well and give and follow instructions. Working Conditions: Must be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions, depending on job location and season (heat, cold, rain, snow). Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., and perform physical tasks such as standing, bending, reaching, squatting, crawling, climbing, kneeling, balancing, pushing, pulling, and reaching overhead for extended periods. Frequent walking and repetitive hand/arm/finger movements. Must have normal or corrected vision and be able to safely perform all visual functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation. Ability to properly identify wire colors including distinguishing between shades of color and brightness in order to splice, join and connect wires to fixtures and components to create circuits. Must possess sufficient hearing ability, with or without corrective devices, to effectively communicate with others, respond to audible alarms and warnings, and safely perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation. Must be able to work in noisy environments. Ability to work on ladders of various types up to 14', extension ladders, or relocate a 12' step ladder independently. Ability to safely comply with manufacturer-rated load capacities on ladders (combined body weight and tools must not exceed: 250lbs (for Class 1), or 300lbs (for Class 1A). Capable of working at heights up to 60' on ladders, scaffolds, aerial lifts, cat walks, roofs or other safe platforms. Ability to work in confined or restricted spaces, as required. Must be able to use construction site sanitary facilities, including portable restrooms. Must always wear PPE on the job site: hard hat, safety glasses, safety vest, safety shoes, gloves, harness, etc. and any additional PPE required by the customer. Must be able to work scheduled hours, with overtime and potential night shifts, as required, on short notice. This is a safety-sensitive position. Special Requirements Ability to personally travel to or obtain transportation to job sites locally, regionally, in-state and out-of-state as business requires; evening and weekend work may be required. On projects assigned outside the local company area, must have the ability to travel and stay at out-of-town jobsite up to 3 to 4 weeks at a time. Wear personal protective equipment on jobsite at all times: hard hat, safety glasses, safety vest, rubber soled boots, gloves, harness (as required), etc. Employment may be contingent upon successful completion of job-related background checks, screenings, drug-and alcohol-testing, and physical examination(s), consistent with applicable laws.
