Radiation Therapist

Role Overview Provide radiation therapy treatments to patients. Assist in planning, treating, and monitoring patients as part of the oncology team. Work closely with physicians and care staff to ensure high-quality and safe treatment. Maintain compliance with radiation safety standards and professional guidelines. Key Responsibilities Communicate effectively with patients, families, physicians, and team members. Promote a positive, supportive, and team‑oriented work environment. Deliver radiation therapy sessions accurately as prescribed by the Radiation Oncologist. Perform simulations, select positioning aids, and fabricate immobilization devices. Monitor and assess patient condition and treatment side effects daily. Provide patient and family education regarding treatment and expectations. Follow strict safety, infection control, and radiation protection protocols. Perform machine warm‑ups, operation checks, and documentation as required. Complete accurate procedure documentation and validate charges. Use resources efficiently and manage time effectively. Participate in professional development, in‑service programs, and continuing education. Qualifications Graduate of an approved radiation therapy education program. Licenses/Certifications Required: CMRT - Certified Medical Radiologic Technologist (State License). ARRT - Radiation Therapy (T) certification. New graduates must obtain ARRT (T) within 3 months. BLS - Basic Life Support (AHA). Strong English communication skills (verbal and written). Ability to use Radiation Oncology Information Systems and basic office software. Strong teamwork, customer service, and problem‑solving skills. Work Conditions Uniforms or scrubs may be required. May require on‑call availability during emergencies.
