X-Ray Technologist

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

Shift: 3x12.0

Weekends: Friday from 10:30 AM to Midnight, Saturday from 8 AM to Midnight, and Sunday from 7:30 AM to 4 PM. On-call and callback shifts may also be required as per unit needs.

Job Description

The X-Ray Technologist will be responsible for performing radiographic imaging procedures as per physicians' orders, ensuring patient safety and comfort throughout the process. This role includes explaining the procedures to patients, positioning them correctly, and producing high-quality diagnostic images for interpretation by the Radiologist.

Responsibilities

• Verify patients' identity and review physicians' orders before beginning x-ray procedures.
• Utilize x-ray equipment safely and properly, ensuring minimal radiation exposure to patients.
• Position patients accurately for imaging, including assistance for those with limited mobility.
• Observe patients' status and adapt procedures to meet their specific needs.
• Maintain proper records, ensuring images are accurately identified and sent to the PACS system.
• Notify management of any damaged or malfunctioning x-ray equipment.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Completion of formal training in an approved School of Radiologic Technology.
• Certification through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) and NYS license (or ability to obtain it prior to starting).
• Minimum of 2 years of experience as an X-Ray Technologist, including Level 1 trauma center experience.
• Recent experience using c-arm/o-arm within the past 8 months.
• Current BLS certification (American Heart Association only).
• Ability to lift or move patients and stand for extended periods.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with effective communication abilities.
