Registered Nurse, Cardiac Cath Lab

Job Description The Intraoperative Registered Nurse at North Mississippi Health Services Systems is responsible for providing safe, quality patient care using the nursing process, maintaining effective communication with the multidisciplinary team, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. The role requires leadership skills in prioritizing, delegating, and evaluating work assignments, as well as effective problem‑solving abilities to respond to changing patient needs. The intraoperative Registered Nurse must possess phenomenal efficiency and attention to detail with a strong knowledge of operation procedures. Job Functions Uses the nursing process to provide safe, quality care for patients during the intraoperative period. Works to ensure compliance with all NMHS policies and requirements as directed by the Nurse Manager and Educator. Monitors sterility and applies sterile technique during the intraoperative period. Performs and documents ongoing assessments of patients and surgical equipment/supplies. Provides patient/family education and keeps them informed about surgical procedures. Acts as a resource for existing staff and new employees. Can participate in the Preceptor class to ensure proper training of new employees. Maintains communication with multidisciplinary team members to provide holistic care to the patient. Attends daily huddles on each unit to ensure proper assignments and identify team members for the shift. Projects a caring, friendly and helpful image to patients and other customers. Keeps patients and families informed during the intraoperative phase of care. Complies with the NMHS behavioral standards. Maintains competency by staying informed of changing trends in the nursing practice. Completes yearly competencies related to surgical procedures, equipment, supplies, etc. Attends annual review and unit specifics within the department. Attends and participates in regularly scheduled in‑services within the department. Performs required continuing education hours online and in classroom. Complies with regulatory and accrediting agency requirements. Has a license issued by the Board of Nursing for the state. Education Associate's Degree in Nursing (required) Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred Licenses Certified Pulmonary Resuscitation / Basic Life Support Requirements The following are requirements in addition to any stated in the above description. #J-18808-Ljbffr
