Data Scientist - Profile Overview
This is a data foundation-heavy Data Scientist role with strong overlap into Data Engineering.
What the client is really looking for:
- Advanced SQL + Python (core requirement); Joins, CTEs, window functions, analytical queries
- Hands-on with data quality, validation, and reconciliation
- Strong in backend data modeling, manipulation, and cleansing (owns data structure, grain, and reliability)
- Experience ensuring data is accurate and usable for downstream analytics/BI
- Solid traditional Machine Learning: Feature engineering, model training, evaluation
- Not a model-only / AI-heavy DS
- Less focus on deep learning, GenAI, etc.
- More focus on data foundations + analytics reliability
