Step into an exciting full-time contract role supporting 6th grade students as a Special Education Teacher in a dynamic, collaborative school environment near West Chester, PA. This opportunity places you in a co-teaching setting, working closely alongside a dedicated team of three educators to positively impact the academic and social growth of approximately 20 students.
Your focus will center on delivering individualized instruction and interventions within an inclusive classroom, fostering a supportive atmosphere for all learners to thrive. As a valuable team partner, you’ll collaborate on lesson planning, share expertise, and actively contribute to student success each day.
Key Qualifications:
- Certification in Special Education
- Experience in a school-based or similar educational setting preferred
- Ability to develop, implement, and monitor IEPs
- Strong communication skills for liaising with parents, students, and fellow staff
- Comfortable in co-teaching models and working collaboratively
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver instruction and accommodations tailored to students’ IEP goals in a 6th grade co-teaching classroom
- Collaborate with a close-knit team of teachers to plan engaging, effective lessons
- Track and report student progress; make data-driven instructional decisions
- Maintain clear and consistent communication with families and support staff
- Foster an inclusive learning environment, promoting student confidence and independence
