Compensation

• Base Salary: $100,000 - $140,000 DOE
• Semi-Annual Performance Bonuses (2 per year)
• $1,000/month non-taxable vehicle allowance
• Company-paid fuel for all local travel

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Site Utility Estimator to join a growing heavy civil construction team. This position is responsible for preparing accurate and competitive estimates for underground utility projects involving water, sewer, storm drainage, and other "wet utility" infrastructure throughout North Texas.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience estimating both public and private work and a strong understanding of heavy civil construction and underground utility installation. Candidates whose background is primarily residential subdivision development will not be considered a fit for this role.

• Storm drainage systems
• Lift stations and utility structures
• Municipal utility infrastructure
• Commercial and industrial site utility projects
• Educational, airport, public works, and private development projects

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years of estimating experience in underground utility construction
• Proven experience with both public and private sector projects
• Extensive knowledge of wet utilities including water, sewer, and storm drain systems
• Strong understanding of civil construction means, methods, and sequencing
• Experience reviewing plans, specifications, geotechnical reports, and bid documents
• Ability to perform quantity takeoffs and develop detailed cost estimates
• Strong subcontractor and vendor relationship management skills
• Experience preparing competitive bids and negotiated proposals
• Excellent communication, organizational, and time-management skills

Preferred Experience

• Municipal infrastructure projects
• City, county, state, and public agency work
• Commercial and industrial developments
• Heavy civil construction projects
• Design-build and negotiated work

Not a Fit

This position is not intended for estimators whose experience is primarily limited to:

• Residential subdivision development
• Franchise utilities (electric, gas, telecom, fiber optic)
• Vertical building construction without underground utility experience
