Position Overview

As a Hematology/Oncology Physician at the Martinsburg VA Medical Center, your responsibilities will include:

• Delivering comprehensive hematology and oncology care to Veterans in both outpatient and inpatient environments

• Assessing, diagnosing, and managing hematologic and oncologic disorders

• Determining the need for inpatient admissions versus outpatient care

• Conducting thorough medical and psychosocial evaluations

• Ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests and developing treatment strategies

• Coordinating specialty consultations within the VA and community care networks

• Providing ongoing management for chronic diseases and survivorship care

• Educating patients and families through various communication methods

• Maintaining precise and timely documentation within CPRS

• Supervising and mentoring medical residents and students

• Collaborating closely with interdisciplinary care teams

• Possibly overseeing nurse practitioners and physician assistants
