Department:Administration & Finance Salary:12.00 (Commensurate with experience) Description Position Summary: The Student Computer Lab Assistant at the UHD Kingwood Location to assist the Distance Education Department. The ideal candidate possesses strong customer service and communication skills, is self-motivated, and has a working knowledge of Windows operating systems, Microsoft Office applications, and general computer hardware and software. Evening and split-shift availability is required. Job Description Monitors the operation of the general computer lab. Assists with Software installations if needed. Greets students as they come into the general computer area. Performs other duties as assigned. Provides data entry for the Service Desk Ticketing System. Provide first Tier technical support to students and faculty. Perform opening and/or closing procedures; and other duties as assigned. Basic Requirements Must have good telephone etiquette and good customer service skills. Knowledge of Windows Operating Systems, Internet browsers; MS office Professional suite and other applications. Solve basic routine Software and Hardware issues as necessary. Must be a self-starter in exercising initiative with the ability to get things done by performing daily tasks effectively. Must be able to work evening shift(4pm 9 pm) and/or split shift. Requirements Must have at least one year of experience Must be a UHD Student Preference will be given to students who are eligible for and participating in the Federal Work-Study (FWS) Program. All currently enrolled UHD students who meet the minimum qualifications are encouraged to apply.
