Quality Control Specialist

Job Description Specialist I - Microbiologist – ElPaso,TX – Supports the Quality Control Laboratory by performing microbiological testing on raw materials, in‑process and finished products, and stability samples. Performs environmental sampling and analysis, maintains trending data, assists in protocol, change, deviation and notification documentation, and compiles and reviews testing data. Maintains the microbiology laboratory, orders supplies, supports equipment maintenance and calibration, ensures lab safety and hazardous waste management, cleans and maintains lab areas, and implements corrective actions. Keeps laboratory logbooks and records per Good Documentation Practices and stays audit ready. Responsibilities Perform microbiological testing on raw materials, in‑process and finished products, and stability samples according to applicable procedures. Collect environmental samples and perform analysis per site procedures. Maintain environmental trending data. Assist in completing project protocols, change notifications, deviation waivers, and quality notifications with supervision. Compile testing data and review results. Order supplies, reagents, and materials as needed. Support equipment maintenance and calibration activities. Understand and follow lab safety and hazardous waste management. Clean and maintain laboratory areas and equipment. Support investigations and implementation of corrective actions. Maintain laboratory logbooks and records according to Good Documentation Practices. Stay audit ready for the microbiology laboratory. Comply with all local, state, federal, and BD safety regulations and quality policies. Perform other related duties as assigned. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology or a related field. Minimum 2years of experience in a microbiology laboratory within a pharmaceutical, biotech, or aseptic filling environment preferred. Workplace Arrangement Minimum 4 days of in‑office presence per week unless stated otherwise. Some roles may have remote or field‑based arrangements as specified in the posting.
