Overview ERP International is seeking a full-time Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) Tech to support Naval Medical Center San Diego, CA. Responsibilities Work Schedule: Sunday - Saturday, 8.5 hour shifts (Days/Evenings/Nights), Occasional Holiday, NO CALL! Performs advanced, complex research evaluation of new imaging methods and techniques utilizing MRI principles. Responsible for all MRI techniques, patient care, operation of advanced imaging equipment, and post‑processing imaging and calculations for each study. Works independently performing non‑routine, specialized procedures with responsibility for protocols and patient care; estimates and reports time, maintains records, and prepares production reports; ensures timely completion of work and communication with clinic status. Independently performs complex computerized 3D and 3D MRI scanning of the head and/or body. Receives patients, explains procedures, positions patients, screens for risks/benefits, and produces necessary images. Performs MRI of heads, spines, extremities, and bodies; starts IVs when needed; positions patients and produces necessary images; assists in triage and scheduling; works with emergency and outpatient patients. Confers with radiologist to establish requirements for non‑standard examinations and imaging parameters; provides technical advice to maintain image quality; notifies radiologist of significant scans; administers emergency medicinal injections and oversees emergency equipment. Participates in establishing, performing, and maintaining quality assurance programs; monitors scanner and computers for malfunctions; makes minor equipment adjustments; maintains permanent records of scans. Obtains assistance from supervisor on equipment repairs or patient‑related reports; assists in design and planning of MRI‑related research projects. Provides instruction to fellow staff members on new procedures and ongoing guidance for unusual cases; offers training to new employees, students, and residents/fellows per established procedures but is not responsible for their clinical direction. Ensures proper maintenance of the MRI scanner, accessory equipment, and the clinical area; assists in instruction on proper use of scanner and associated software. Explains images to physicians, contributes to training residents, interns, fellows, and technologists as needed. Performs other duties as assigned. Recognizes situations requiring patient resuscitation due to cardiac or respiratory arrest and institutes necessary emergency measures. Qualifications Education: Graduate from an academic program accredited by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT). Experience: Minimum of 2 years as an MRI Tech. Licensure: Certified in MRI by the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT). Life Support Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS). Security: Must pass a Government background check and obtain a Government security clearance. Pay Scale: $51.31/hr – 65.00/hr, to be determined based on qualifications, experience, and location.
