What You’ll Be Responsible For Estimating & Budgeting Prepare conceptual, schematic, GMP, and hard bid estimates Perform quantity takeoffs and pricing analysis Solicit and level subcontractor/vendor pricing Review plans and specifications for scope gaps and risk Preconstruction Leadership Coordinate design and preconstruction efforts Support constructability reviews and value engineering Develop preliminary schedules and logistics plans Work directly with architects, engineers, and ownership teams Business Development Support Build relationships with Developers, General Contractors, Architects, Municipal clients, Trade partners Support proposal development and pursuit strategy Help identify and position future opportunities Proposal & Bid Management Manage bid schedules and deadlines Coordinate bid submissions Prepare RFIs and scope clarifications Assist with presentations and interview preparation What We’re Looking For 5+ years experience in estimating or preconstruction Commercial construction experience required Strong understanding of Construction drawings, Quantity takeoffs, Project budgeting, Bid analysis, Scope development Strong communication and relationship-building skills Ability to think strategically and move fast Preferred Skills Design-build experience Public/Government project experience Bluebeam, Procore, Buildertrend proficiency Existing Charlotte market relationships Bilingual (English/Spanish) Why Genesis Construction Genesis is a growing commercial construction company focused on long-term partnerships, adaptability, and operational excellence throughout the Carolinas.
