Outside Plant Engineer

Startech Networks, Inc. is seeking an experienced OSP Field Engineer to join our growing team in the Jackson, Mississippi area. This 1099 contract position offers fielding unit pay: $422.40 per mile for cable placement/fiber overbuilds, $90 per electronic work order startup package, and additional compensation opportunities. Applicants must be US citizens or permanent residents authorized to work in the United States. Responsibilities Scope and perform OSP related projects. Maintain strong customer, vendor, and project management skills. Communicate effectively by phone, email, and in person. Design, provision, and document outside plant fiber optic cable (UG, aerial, and buried). Understand manhole and conduit design. Read and interpret work prints from drafting systems such as AutoCAD and ARAMIS. Take field notes following OSP Design Principles and optionally transfer notes into KMZ files. Possess Google Earth knowledge. Understand pole loading and ROW permit requirements. Understand FTTx and AT&T GPON design. Have ASE, F3, site walk & greenfield experience. Be legally authorized to work in the United States. Be flexible for short business trips and occasional weekend work. Maintain efficient working timelines while multitasking across several projects. Track work due dates and expectations in an organized manner.
