Antitrust Associate - NY or DC

Responsibilities Orrick Herrington & Sutcliffe LLP seeks a talented associate with 1-3 years of antitrust experience to join our top-ranked Antitrust & Competition Practice Group in New York or Washington, DC . This is an exceptional opportunity for a highly motivated attorney eager to work on complex antitrust investigations, enforcement actions, and high‑stakes private litigation involving issues ranging from monopolization to merger challenges. You'll also play a key role in cross‑border transaction advocacy and regulatory strategy for clients in fast‑evolving sectors such as technology, AI, life sciences, and energy. As part of our collaborative team, you will advise clients on compliance and risk management strategies, participate in all stages of litigation—from drafting pleadings to trial—and stay at the forefront of competition developments and priorities. Qualifications 1–3 years of relevant legal experience, preferably in antitrust litigation, regulatory or government investigations at a top law firm. Prior clerkship or DOJ/FTC experience preferred. Strong academic credentials. Excellent legal research skills; superb writing and oral communication abilities. Strong interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to work effectively in teams. Prior experience or strong interest in civil antitrust/unfair competition litigation, merger reviews (DOJ/FTC), global criminal cartel matters, government civil investigations, and counseling. Familiarity with antitrust issues in the technology sector is highly preferred. Admission to the New York and/or DC bar. Compensation and Benefits The expected salary range for this position is between $225,000 and $310,000. Orrick is committed to providing a comprehensive, competitive, and thoughtful total compensation package to our attorneys and staff, wherever they work. The level of pay within the range will depend on a variety of job‑related factors that may include, but are not limited to, qualifications, relevant experience or education, particular skills or expertise, and geography. Other compensation may include an annual discretionary merit bonus, which would be determined by firm and individual performance.
