About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Outpatient Surgery Duration: 12 Weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 10 hours Experience: Minimum of 2 years in outpatient surgery License: Valid RN License required Certifications: BLS and ACLS Must-Have: - Minimum of 2 years of experience - Experience with a patient population from infants to geriatrics - Familiarity with electronic medical record systems Description: This position requires a Registered Nurse specializing in outpatient surgery. The nurse will work in a unit that has 13 operating rooms. The patient population ranges from infants to geriatrics. The nurse must provide coverage for cases that run late, as there are no call requirements. Scheduled shifts will typically follow a 4x10-hour format, working from 6:45 AM to 5:15 PM. A maximum of 7 days of time off may be requested during the contract. Every other weekend is typically scheduled, unless otherwise specified. If a major holiday falls during the assignment period, the nurse is expected to work it. The nurse will participate in a clinical screening to ensure clinical fit. Experience in procedures such as general surgery, orthopedic and spinal cases, and trauma care is preferred. Knowledge of infection control practices and specimen handling is essential. The travel nurse should be adept at working collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams. Comfort with floating within operating room departments is required.
