Associate - Education and School Law

Job Overview A law firm seeks an experienced Associate to join their team in Atlantic City, NJ, specializing in Education and School Law. The role involves providing legal guidance to school boards and administrators on various matters, including compliance, staff relations, and litigation. Duties Partner with local school boards to offer legal guidance and protection. Advise on staff relations, pupil rights, and compliance with IDWA and Section 504. Support clients in employment and environmental law areas. Conduct training sessions for school boards. Attend school board meetings. Draft board contracts and other legal documents. Represent boards in litigation before New Jersey courts and agencies. Requirements Admitted to the New Jersey Bar. Minimum of 1-year legal practice in education law preferred. Thorough knowledge of New Jersey Education laws. Demonstrated skills in advocacy, mediation, and interviewing. Superior analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and relevant software. Education Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school. Certifications Admitted to the New Jersey Bar. Skills Advocacy and mediation skills. Analytical and problem-solving abilities.
