Matrimonial & Supreme Court Litigation Associate Attorney

New York, NY (On-Site) | Full-Time

Salary Range: $140,000 – $160,000

Estate Law New York is seeking a motivated Associate Attorney to join our New York City office with a primary focus on Matrimonial and Supreme Court Litigation . This role is ideal for an attorney with 3–4 years of matrimonial litigation experience , strong courtroom exposure, and the ability to independently manage active Supreme Court matrimonial matters.

Responsibilities
  • Handle contested and uncontested matrimonial and divorce matters
  • Draft and review pleadings, motions, stipulations, settlement agreements, and other legal documents
  • Manage Supreme Court matrimonial litigation from commencement through resolution
  • Appear regularly in New York Supreme Court for conferences, hearings, motions, and other court appearances
  • Conduct client consultations and provide strategic legal advice regarding matrimonial matters
  • Handle issues involving equitable distribution, maintenance, and other matrimonial financial matters
  • Conduct discovery, including reviewing financial documents and preparing and responding to discovery demands
  • Negotiate settlements and participate in settlement conferences and mediation
  • Conduct legal research and prepare motions, memoranda, and other litigation documents
  • Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and the Court
  • Maintain organized case files and ensure all court deadlines and filing requirements are met
  • Independently manage a caseload while keeping matters progressing efficiently

Qualifications
  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school
  • Active New York State Bar license required
  • 3–4 years of matrimonial and Supreme Court litigation experience
  • Strong courtroom presence and litigation skills
  • Experience independently handling Supreme Court appearances
  • Demonstrated experience handling matrimonial matters from commencement through resolution
  • Strong legal research, writing, negotiation, and advocacy skills
  • Excellent organizational and case-management abilities
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple active litigation matters and meet strict court deadlines
