Support patients managing behavioral health conditions as a full-time Staff Pharmacist in New Paltz, NY. This role offers an opportunity to apply specialized behavioral health pharmacy expertise within a collaborative healthcare environment focused on delivering exceptional patient care. The position is contract to hire and involves working closely with prescribers, pharmacy technicians, support staff, and other healthcare team members.

Responsibilities:

• Review and verify prescriptions for accuracy, appropriate dosing, drug interactions, allergies, and clinical appropriateness
• Safely dispense prescription medications and provide medication counseling to patients and caregivers
• Support patients with behavioral health medications and complex medication regimens
• Communicate effectively with prescribers regarding medication orders, clarifications, and therapy concerns
• Assist with medication adherence, continuity-of-care initiatives, and resolve medication access or prior authorization issues
• Collaborate with healthcare providers to optimize patient outcomes
• Maintain accurate pharmacy records and documentation in compliance with regulations
• Provide oversight and guidance to pharmacy technicians and support staff
• Uphold New York State pharmacy regulations and internal pharmacy policies
• Participate in quality improvement and patient safety initiatives

Qualifications:

• Active and clear New York State Pharmacist license
• Proven behavioral health pharmacy experience required
• Strong knowledge of behavioral health medications and management of complex medication regimens
• Excellent clinical judgment and prescription verification skills
• Effective communication, organizational, and patient-care abilities
• Ability to collaborate well with prescribers, pharmacy technicians, and healthcare professionals
