Field Service Technician / Diesel Mechanic

Description Rueter’s Equipment is a family‑owned distributor of world class agriculture and construction equipment such as Case IH, Kubota, Hyundai, JCB, Ashland, and more. The position includes major mechanical work on gasoline and diesel engines, electrical and hydraulic troubleshooting, fuel system tune‑ups, and all other phases of agricultural implement and equipment repair. A CDL is helpful. Workers must have their own tools and Rueter’s provides continuous ongoing company training to keep technicians up to date on all technology advances. Requirements 7+ years of heavy equipment repair training and experience. Willingness to be paid based on experience and background skills. Duties Perform shop‑based repair work. Travel to customer locations to service equipment, possessing a valid driver’s license and being insurable with the company’s insurance to operate company vehicles. Perform quality maintenance service work on customer equipment. Accurately diagnose and troubleshoot equipment problems and recommend effective repairs. Determine parts and supplies required to make repairs and perform quality repair work on customer equipment. Follow proper safety procedures when working under and around equipment. Meet all deadlines and schedules for completion of work. Occasionally operate a forklift to assist in working on heavy equipment and may assist in loading and unloading machinery. Reports and Record‑Keeping Accurately record information related to work orders, including time, work performed, and materials used, according to company procedures. Accurately enter time and materials for service and repair work performed to facilitate correct billing to customers. Supervisory Responsibility This position has no supervisory responsibility. The employee is regularly required to communicate with the team, stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle or feel, and reach with hands and arms. The job requires the employee to lift at least 25 pounds routinely. Position Type and Expected Hours of Work This is a full‑time position.
