Prepare and cook meals according to the school’s menu and nutritional guidelines.
Prepare breakfast, lunch, and snacks for children and staff as needed.
Follow proper food preparation, portioning, and serving procedures.
Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen at all times.
Follow all food safety, sanitation, and health regulations.
Properly store, label, and date food and ingredients.
Monitor food temperatures and maintain appropriate temperature logs.
Check inventory and notify management when food or supplies need to be reordered.
Receive and properly store food deliveries.
Minimize food waste and use ingredients efficiently.
Clean and sanitize kitchen equipment, counters, dishes, and food preparation areas.
Operate kitchen appliances and equipment safely.
Accommodate approved food allergies and dietary restrictions according to school policies.
Communicate with management regarding menu needs, food concerns, or kitchen maintenance issues.
Assist with maintaining required kitchen records and documentation.
Follow all Children’s Lighthouse policies and Texas childcare food-service requirements.
