Senior Electrical Project Manager - Hyperscale Data Center Construction

Location: New Florence, Missouri, approximately one hour northwest of St. Louis Work Arrangement: Full-time, on-site Schedule: Five 10-hour shifts Monday through Friday, plus alternating Saturdays; scheduled Saturday work is included in salary Compensation: $170,000 to $200,000+, commensurate with experience Start Date: As soon as possible Project Duration: Approximately three years remaining Relocation: Required if not currently within practical commuting distance Employment Type: Project-based employment with potential for continued long-term placement Per Diem: Monthly per diem is available regardless of residence. A substantially enhanced package is available to eligible employees whose permanent residence is at least 100 miles from the project site. Per diem may include taxable and non-taxable components according to applicable requirements and company policy. Position Overview Albers Management is seeking a Senior Electrical Project Manager to lead the delivery of medium-voltage electrical infrastructure for an active hyperscale data center project in New Florence, Missouri. The project is in its early stages, with approximately three years of planned construction activity remaining. Albers Management typically operates as an owner’s representative and, for this assignment, is providing staff augmentation to a member of the project’s construction joint venture. The selected SPM will integrate with the broader project team while remaining an employee of Albers Management. This field-oriented role is responsible for medium-voltage electrical distribution beginning at the transformer secondary handoff and continuing downstream through the infrastructure serving the data halls and rack power interface. The scope includes UPS systems and associated equipment assigned under the project responsibility matrix. The SPM will manage electrical systems through coordination, installation, testing, energization readiness, commissioning, and turnover. Separate project leaders manage adjacent scopes, including the substation, upstream power delivery, transformers, mechanical systems, HVAC, low-voltage systems, and physical server rack installation. Key Responsibilities Manage assigned electrical systems from design coordination and submittal review through installation, testing, commissioning, and turnover. Coordinate work involving electrical rooms, switchgear, switchboards, feeders, busway, panelboards, UPS systems, grounding, pathways, and data hall power distribution. Coordinate electrical contractors, subcontractors, engineers, vendors, commissioning agents, project controls, operations personnel, and owner-side stakeholders. Review drawings, one-line diagrams, risers, schedules, specifications, submittals, RFIs, test reports, and commissioning documentation. Identify and resolve constructability concerns, design gaps, sequencing conflicts, access constraints, material issues, and scope-interface risks. Conduct regular field walks to monitor safety, quality, installation progress, testing readiness, and schedule performance. Track near-term constraints, long-lead equipment, inspections, deficiencies, action items, and turnover deliverables. Coordinate installation sequencing and system readiness with mechanical, controls, low-voltage, upstream power, and downstream rack-readiness workstreams. Support safe-work planning, energization readiness, switching-procedure coordination, startup, load bank testing, integrated systems testing, and punch-list resolution. Communicate status, risks, decisions, cost exposure, and recovery plans to project leadership while maintaining clear project records. Required Qualifications Eight or more years of relevant electrical project management, construction management, or infrastructure-delivery experience. Experience delivering medium-voltage electrical systems on data center, mission-critical, industrial, advanced manufacturing, or similarly systems-intensive projects. Direct data center experience or substantial experience in another high-reliability, complex electrical environment. Demonstrated responsibility for electrical systems through construction, startup, testing, commissioning, and turnover. Strong knowledge of switchgear, switchboards, feeders, busway, panelboards, UPS systems, grounding, equipment rooms, and electrical pathways. Ability to interpret electrical drawings, one-line diagrams, risers, equipment schedules, specifications, submittals, RFIs, and testing and commissioning records. Experience coordinating contractors, designers, vendors, commissioning agents, project controls, operations teams, and adjacent disciplines. Strong field leadership, constructability review, scheduling, issue tracking, documentation, and stakeholder communication skills. A degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline is preferred but not required. Substantial field-based electrical construction experience may substitute for a degree. An electrician or master electrician license is not required. Preferred Qualifications Direct hyperscale or large-scale data center construction experience. Experience managing data hall electrical distribution from transformer secondary through the rack power interface. Experience with fast-track, phased, multi-building, or concurrently constructed projects. Experience with energization planning, load bank testing, integrated systems testing, factory acceptance testing, and electrical commissioning. OSHA 30-hour Construction training and familiarity with NFPA 70E, electrical safe-work planning, and lockout/tagout coordination. Experience with Procore, Primavera P6, Bluebeam, BIM coordination, commissioning platforms, or comparable systems. Work Environment and Conditions of Employment This is an active, field-oriented construction role requiring extended site walking and standing; access to electrical rooms, data halls, equipment areas, stairs, ladders, and uneven surfaces; work around noise, dust, weather, and changing site conditions; and use of required PPE. The position may require occasional early mornings, evenings, additional hours, and project-related travel. Essential functions must be performed with or without reasonable accommodation. Scope Clarification This is not a general building PM, utility interconnection, transmission, substation, transformer-procurement, server-rack installation, or remote administrative role. It is a senior field-delivery position focused on medium-voltage electrical infrastructure serving data halls within a hyperscale data center program.
